Information on Resource Development for level 5 and level 6
- Details
- Hits: 6085
From September 2015 FESS is working towards having a new section on www.fess.ie which will provide suggested resource lists to support delivery of programme modules leading to a range of QQI components at level 5 and level 6.
The resource lists will identify themes and topics present in the QQI components and suggest relevant websites, books, leaflets, videos, organisations etc. to support staff delivering programme modules leading to these components. The resource lists will be of particular benefit to staff teaching a programme module for the first time or for staff who are looking for new ideas. FESS is delighted to support the development of these resource lists and is responding to continued requests and needs as expressed by the FET sector.
FESS would like to receive completed applications from FET staff with the necessary experience and expertise to develop these resources. This exemplar provides an clear picture of the minimum development required.
This work must be completed by the successful applicants during September 2015, so staff would need to be available during this time to undertake the work. The resource lists will then be made available, through the FESS website, to the FET sector.
A separate application should be made for each resource proposed. The application form is available here. Applications should be made to fessresources@gmail.com no later than Monday 7th September 2015 at noon. No other FESS email address should be used and application forms should not be sent directly to Support Officers or to the FESS Manager.
Staff undertaking this work will receive remuneration from FESS. Each resource list for each component has been allocated 2 days (12 hours) of working time. (Daily rate €203.16 x 2 = €406.32). The work can be spread across the week but should be completed in a staff members own time i.e. evenings or week-ends. Payment will be made following satisfactory completion of the work.
Resource List Development Initiative - Phase 5

Following the success of the phase 1, phase 2, phase 3 and phase 4 'Resource Lists' that were developed by FET teachers and trainers, FESS would like to announce phase 5 of the development.
In response to requests from the sector this current call is for potential writers of resource lists for level 1.
This round, phase 5, of resource list development is targeted at level 1 only, as this is the level for which resource lists have not yet been developed. Given the credit value / volume of the NFQ Level 1 Awards leading to QQI certification it is possible to develop a resource list to cover content for more than one level 1 component. Therefore we will consider applications for resource list development in the following field areas, specifically related to programmes at level 1.
- Literacy / Communications
- Numeracy
- Personal Skills and Development
- Other field areas in which certification is being achieved at Level 1.
The related level 1 components must be indicated in the completed resource list application form.
The application form below should be submitted by teachers/tutors/trainers who may be interested in getting involved in writing the resource lists:
- Application Form FESS Resource List Development for a Field Area / Field of Learning in which certification is being achieved at Level 1 (Phase 5)
Applications must be submitted to resourcelist@fess.ie only, no other email address should be used.
Deadline for receipt of applications is Friday 2 February 2018 at 17.00.
It is expected that writers will spend the equivalent of 2 full days (12 hours) working on each resource list in their own time. Payment is €203.16 per day i.e. €406.32 per completed resource list.
All resource list writing must be completed and submitted on or before Monday 12 March 2018 at 17.00.
