Working Interculturally, Promoting Integration (Athlone, March 2020)
The purpose of this workshop is four-fold. It offers a number of opportunities for FET Teachers, Tutors, Trainers and Co-ordinators who are working with learners from diverse cultural backgrounds to:
- Explore and reflect on how you have been shaped by your own culture, and how others are shaped by theirs
- Learn about, become familiar with, and explore some of the thinking and principles behind an approach to intercultural work
- Experience exercises and processes you might use with others
- Consider ways in which you might use these resources and insights in your context
This event will take the form of a highly participative, experiential, hands-on workshop. In order to take account of people’s different experience of learning, and diversity of learning styles, a variety of methods and resources will be used.
