Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) in FET: Mentor Model (Sligo, March 2020)

This professional development day will explore a TEL Mentoring Model that can be implemented in FET Colleges/Centres to help to mentor FET teachers and trainers to embed the use of digital technologies into teaching and learning in their classrooms.

It will include learning from one year of the CDETB TEL Mentoring Pilot Project that followed on after completion of the TELMS project. https://telms.eu/

The workshop will include:

• An introduction to the mentoring model including the mentoring process and administration
• Mentoring psychological and philosophical underpinnings
• Deconstructing the mentor role
• Mentoring challenges
• Identifying appropriate TEL tools for the FET classroom
• Exploring next steps following the workshop

Target Audience: The target audience for this workshop is FET staff i.e. Potential TEL mentors, FET managers/Principals/Co-ordinators

Facilitator: The day will be facilitated by FESS and CDETB (Carrie Archer, Marino College & Suzanne Yarker, Pearse College)
